A pixel cat crash game with rounds you can verify.

A cat walks, the multiplier climbs, and you cash out before it gets distracted. Up to 60 friends join on their phones by scanning a QR code, and every round is sealed in Schrödinger's Box so you can verify each result yourself.

The Catino game screen: a pixel cat walking through a summer meadow with the bet panel below

The Unity game on the big screen. Points only, no real money.

How a round works

  1. Bet. Place your points while the cat stretches. Everyone on the phones bets on the same cat.
  2. Walk. The cat walks and the multiplier climbs. Four seasons change the speed and the rules.
  3. Cash out. Press the button before the cat gets distracted: your payout is your bet times the multiplier.
  4. Open the box. After the crash, check that the result was fixed before you bet and could not be steered.

Schrödinger's Box: the fairness proof

A cat in a sealed box has no known fate until the box is opened. Catino's box stays sealed until the cat is "observed" at the crash. It is a metaphor, not literal quantum physics.

  1. Seal. Before anyone can cash out, the server publishes a SHA-256 seal of its secret value.
  2. Seeds. While the cat stretches, every player's phone adds a random seed it just made.
  3. Mix. The crash point comes from the secret XOR a hash of all the seeds, so neither the server nor one player can pick it.
  4. Open. When the cat is distracted the box opens, and every phone re-checks the seal, the seeds and the maths by itself.
crash point = clamp( 0.96 / u , 1 , 100 ) u = (value + 0.5) / 2^36 value = secret XOR top 36 bits of SHA-256( round : seeds ) P(crash ≥ m) = 0.96 / m so every cash-out target returns 96% on average

Straight talk: the quantum part is a simulation (Qiskit) mixed with the operating system's secure random generator, so it is "quantum-ready", not a quantum device. A server could still leave a seed out of the published list (that seed's owner would notice) or cancel a round (bets are refunded). Players committing to their seeds in advance is next.

The odds, in the open

Catino keeps a 4% house edge, and we say so. Over many rounds the game pays back about 96% of all the points bet.

4% house edge

The game keeps 4% on average and pays back 96% (return to player, RTP 96%). That is the whole advantage.

Same for every target

The chance a round reaches x is 0.96 / x. Cash out at 1.5x or at 10x: the long-run return is 96% either way.

Median crash 1.92x

Half of all rounds end before 1.92x, and about 4% end instantly at 1.00x. No streaks, no hidden tilt.

Bonuses are capped

Season bonuses are limited to +4%, so even a perfect strategy stays under 100%.

Verify it yourself. Every round's outcome is sealed before you bet and mixed with the players' seeds. Open Schrödinger's Box after the crash and your phone re-checks the maths. Points have no cash value.

What's inside

The game

Unity 6, pixel art, four seasons with their own music, weather and rules, six cat skins and festival looks. English and French.

The server

FastAPI and SQLite. The server decides every crash point, bonus and payout. An append-only ledger and idempotency keys keep balances honest.

Phones

Scan the QR, bet and cash out from any browser. Live updates over WebSockets with a polling fallback. No app to install.

Play safe

19+ gate, spend limits (raising one waits 24 hours), cool-off, self-exclusion, reality checks and helpline links.

Season bonuses

Capped so the best possible strategy still stays under 100% return. The house edge is 4%.

Operator tools

A live dashboard with the return to player per season, CSV exports and an audit log, available on the server computer only.
